lol, RANT to your hearts content. I did not watch the SOTU but I have heard about it. I wished tho, that MORE Dems would have been on camera in the walk out scene. I know Al Green did but more Dems should have followed suit immediately after him. THAT would have been on camera.
Re: Social Security-omg, Helen, you absolutely voiced my feelings and concerns quite accurately. I had to retire early from my profession due to disability but now I actually am at “retirement age” so I’ve been in the system for awhile. I had worked part a few years ago, but eventually I had to quit cuz it physically became impossible to continue. I now have cancer and so I am further limited in my physicality. Either way, I am trying to contain my anxiety about SS as it would DO ME IN if my check is messed with. I have a small supplemental source of income but not enuf to survive.
Trump and this whole regime are operating now as if the U.S. no longer has a democracy. They are totally operating from an authoritarian playbook so unless the courts step in, we can shout from the rooftops that our Constitutional rights are being violated (and indeed, the protesting “responses” that trump are just one example) but HE. DOES. NOT. CARE. trump operates from as far of a playbook from democracy as we have ever had to date in this country. So, yes….we must continue to raise hell if/when our rights are violated but the judiciary operates at a snail’s pace and we’ve almost got a five alarm fire at our doorstep!
